BLUE MOUNTAIN BEACH

General Overview
Blue Mountain Beach is said to be named after the blue lupine the covers the dunes, spotted by early sailors. Blue Mountain Beach is situated along Scenic Highway 30A at the highest recorded elevation on the Gulf of Mexico. Blue Mountain Beach is approximately 19 miles east of Destin and 31 miles west of Panama City Beach in Northwest Florida.

Architecture
Blue Mountain Beach is comprised primarily of traditional Florida cottage-style homes found largely along the beach-front Blue Mountain Road. Two of the most popular condominum projects on 30A, Adagio and Bella Vita, are found in Blue Mountain Beach whose styles are heavily influenced by the Mediterranean.

Amenities
Redfish Village is located at the intersection of Scenic Highway 30A and County Highway 83 in Blue Mountain Beach. This condominium project features a modest shopping center with a bank and boutiques.

Blue Mountain Beach is home to Draper Lake and Big Redfish Lake, two of the 11 coastal dune lakes along the beaches of South Walton, and among the 15 found along the Gulf of Mexico in Northwest Florida. These rare bodies of water are found only in Northwest Florida and remote portions of Africa and Australia.
